After knowing for sure that all our sins are forgiven, we are left knowing there are many "should's" in life to contemplate. We know we should be forgiving of others. We know we should also love others, if for no other reason than they are also made bearing God's image. We know we should grow deeper in our faith. We know we should learn to know God's word (the Bible) well - what it says, and what it means for our own lives. We should serve others when and where we can. There's enough "should's" to overwhelm us; it's more than we can honestly do, at least without help.
Two thoughts on the matter.
(1) God knows how far from perfect we are. And he knows how often we fail in one "should" or another. Sometimes in all of them. But he still loves us. And he still forgives us. Sure, God wants us to succeed at this Christian life. And sometimes he might use failures to motivate us. For sure, he wants to see us grow (that's true for us all, whether we're brand new Christians or life-long Christians).
(2) God doesn't leave us to do this by ourselves. There is help. (See #!4)
