This is Key Concept #6. You've probably heard of God described as "the Trinity". Here's what that means.  God the Father is the creator – he was creating back at the beginning of everything and is still creating today.  God the Son is Jesus, the redeemer (who “bought us back”), who died to pay for our sins.  And the third “person” of the Trinity is God the Holy Spirit.  When the risen Jesus returned to the Father, we weren't left to our own devices - the Holy Spirit was sent to help us.  And the Holy Spirit provides an incredible amount of help, tailored for each one of us. We're not left alone.

In fact, the Holy Spirit is already active in our lives in many ways. When we first seek to be connected with God, that's the Holy Spirit drawing us to Him. If we feel remorse for our failings (“sin”), that’s the Holy Spirit prompting us.  When we ask God for forgiveness, the Holy Spirit advocates for us. If we are led to be “loving” in a challenging situation, or we see a unique way to deal with a problem, that’s the Holy Spirit leading us. If we're really feeling "down", and hope is fading, the Holy Spirit lifts us up. Sometimes the Holy Spirit is so subtle that we don’t even know he’s at work.  Other times, we're given just the right words to say, and (especially) when we look back on the situation, it's just very clear that God's Spirit was at work. And when we feel weak and defeated, the Holy Spirit is there to reassure us that God loves us, and that He makes sure all things work together for good.  (That's a quote from the Bible.) Exactly how all this works, I don’t know.  But the Spirit never abandons us. And that's a very good feeling.
