It's hard for us flesh-and-blood humans to comprehend the Holy Spirit. Maybe that's because my dictionary defines "comprehend" with words like, grasp, encompass and comprise; and the Spirit resists being put in a box of our making. But the New Testament has many terms that describe what the Spirit does. Here's a sampling:
Counselor (that's what Jesus called the Spirit when he predicted his own death) - https://biblehub.com/john/16-8.htm
Spirit of Truth, that will guide you into truth - https://biblehub.com/john/16-13.htm
Spirit of Life - https://biblehub.com/romans/8-2.htm
Intercessor for us before God the Father -

Spirit of Adoption - https://biblehub.com/romans/8-15.htm
Giver of Fruit in our lives - https://biblehub.com/galatians/5-22.htm (read thru v. 23)
